The word from my editor about Duke in Name Only? “What an absolutely delightful story! … so vivid and the characters so real and three-dimensional.” That is lovely to hear, but I’m a bit terrified by, “There are very minimal edits.” I rely on a strong pair of professional eyes to keep me out of trouble. The best news is, it will be ready for publication very quickly.
I had fun last week doing character charts and prewriting for An Unlikely Duke. Stuff kept flying into my head, every thing from scenes with the crotchety great uncle that the hero didn’t know he had and the heroine’s true dreams, to the heroine’s personal scent. Onward and upward.
