Sanity Returns

Last week’s post gave me pause. I read what I had written and reread it. What I was asking of myself sounded impossible.  I went about my week mulling it over. (I also saw a sleep specialist about my chronic exhaustion.) I went through my calendar a few times, and there was one inescapable conclusion. I can’t do it. Something has to give.

I’ve made commitments for four more novellas between now and the first of the year. I am managing a collection project for the Bluestocking Belles. I planned to also release the next two Honor at Heart books, one in September and one in November. Reviewing it all, it quickly became apparent that the Honor at Heart books would be the easiest to move. Those dates were commitments to myself, and to you my readers, but moving them would not impact other writers.

My original schedule called for releasing the Honor at Heart books every two months, and I managed to get three of them finished in five months! Book Four, Tattered Honor, is available for pre-order and will be live July 21. That one has been a struggle to keep on target. Two months seemed feasible since they are all re-released books that “just” needed a deep, full edit and new epilogues. It wasn’t realistic. There are four more to re-release and two entirely new volumes to write. Unless a pause occurs in which I can do it earlier, you can expect the Book Five, Awakened Honor,  the first of the year. I will keep you posted. I’m not giving up.

Meanwhile this week I hope to get out a much delayed newsletter and complete a full calendar update. I may start my Forevers in Fenwick story. But first, coffee.

  1. Take care of your health first! Maybe you need your nutrition levels tested. Maybe your iron is low.
