Life, as always, rolls along, sometimes aiding the writing, sometimes interfering.
Dogsitting, for example. I always swore I would never call a small animal my “Granddog” no matter how adorable and affectionate he might be. Family is family; dogs are dogs. But lately I’m softening. My daughter’s dog visited for the weekend while his hoomans were all out and about doing summertime things. He was very well behaved and has a way of looking up at me with big brown eyes… As I said softening.
My novella factory continues production a good clip in spite of visitors, holidays, bathroom renovation, and volunteer work. LOVE’S PERILOUS ROAD is now has ARC copies and is rolling toward print production.That one is the Bluestocking Belles’ annual collection of interrelated stories including my “Charred Hope.”
Also for the Bluestocking Belles, I’m typing away on my as yet unnamed holiday story. The rough draft is due September first. It is a second-chance-at-love story with a bit of a murder mystery set the week before Christmas.
My valentine story is back from Beta readers. I should have it cleaned up and off to the editor this week. It’s title is either WELL DONE, HARRY or EMMA’s VALENTINE WISHES. Which do you prefer?
