Horn Tooting

In order to read it, they have to find it. “Discovery” is the toughest phase of publishing, and it gets harder every year. How does someone find my books in the sea of historical romance books—some brilliant, some excellent, some terrible, some junk—being published every year. How do I get attention? It is tough. I’ve yet to read anything that sounds like the magic ticket.

The truth is, I’m not very good at tooting my own horn. Other authors make better memes, understand ads, and clearly have more energy. So far I’ve done a few half decent memes. Do I want to take a day-or a week-to make a trailer? Would it be worth it? Shall I pay for ads? Probably. I have begun to send ARCs to reviewers. That is one thing that appears to help. SIGH.

How can you help? I’m glad you asked! You can:

  • Share my books in social media
  • Share my books —and my newsletter—with friends
  • Write reviews on Amazon, GoodReads and/or BookBub

I would be truly grateful, especially for the third one. This week I need to polish Book 1 for its launch and write an epilogue for Book 3, set for preorder April 2. What time I have for promotion, if any, I plan to use for some BookBub promotion. But first, coffee
