Working Hard

It be done with hands, with shovels, with machinery, with cloth, with muscle, with mind, or even with a keyboard. However it occurs, it should be done lovingly and with pride. I’m a believer in Lincoln’s statement that capital is dependent on labor. It is the foundation of all wealth and societal benefit. May your work this week be successful!

As to last week, it went very well. On Wednesday I typed “The End” to The Angel’s Announcement for Merry Belles. On Friday I gave it a careful read through, editing as I go, and it is in the hands of Beta Readers. I’ve already read two of the three offerings for that collection assigned to me, and we should shortly have a cover to share and possibly a pre-order link.

Last week I also finished my stint as coordinating Belles’ Brunch on Saturdays. We finished with discussing three more female archetypes in the category CREATE. The final one was Queen. It was easy to find good literary examples for that, both heroic and villainous. There as no Facts Behind The Fiction but we did host Addy DuLac on Caroline Warfield’s Fellow Travelers.

coffee-2390136_1280-300x204 Author's Blog But First Coffee Over the weekend I made a big decision. As you know, the rights to my first seven novels, published with Soul Mate, reverted to me but the books disappeared from publication. I plan to re-edit all of them adding new epilogues and possibly other new content. They’ll be packaged as a single interconnected series (all the characters know each other and many are family) with new covers. I’ll also add two books I always meant to add after The Price of Glory but got distracted. The decision? I’m going to publish them myself. I bought cover art for all ten. GULP. Counting writing two entirely new novels this project may take a year. I’m on it. But first? Coffee.
