Working Into Evening

Screenshot-2025-08-18-at-9.17.08-PM-298x300 Author's Blog But First Coffee I confess to you that I am beavering away at 9PM. Clearly my coffee drinking is hours behind me. It is been a busy stretch of time.  I got home from my wedding shower trip Monday afternoon. Travel takes it out of me these days so I was a day or two recuperating. BUT I visited The Tea Room on Facebook, chatted with friends and gave away prizes. AND Dukes All Night Long went live on Sunday so we had a party to celebrate. More chatting, more prizes, and over 200 comments to respond to. AND it is my month to coordinate Belles’ Brunch, our weekly Saturday chat about craft and reading. I had to prepare questions and conversation starters and then lead discussion.
My topic this month is Female Archetypes in life, fiction, and our own writing. Last week was warriors and others who disrupt. Next week we’ll discuss those who restore–lovers and healers. It happens in the Belles’ Brigade; everyone is free to join in. In fact you can see last week’s discussion and comment.

It may not come as a surprise that I wasn’t particularly productive. My holiday novella, variously titled Holiday Homicide or The Angel’s Announcement is going very slowly. I did get a good scene written today, took a walk, got prizes awarded, went to chapel…and did a few other tasks. So here I am writing this with the shades down and the lights on. Next week? FIRST COFFEE.
