How did I get so busy? I’ve been going in circles the past two weeks, so much so that I didn’t even get to this blog post last Monday.
First of all, writing writing writing. “Music in the Night”, a novella for the Dragonblade collection, Dukes All Night Long, is finished! I typed THE END over the weekend. You may have seen a bit of it on Work in Progress last Wednesday. I’m reading through and it will be off to beta readers this evening.
This week, I’ll begin a new story. I owe a Valentine novella to another project and a made to order story to a reader who won it as a prize. I’m beginning one or both of those this week. I’m thinking about a bit of fantasy on the theme “Be careful what you wish for…” for one or both of them.
Future planning continues. My proposal to Dragonblade for turning my back list books that are no longer available into a ten book series with new content and updated packaging has been well received. It will mean a heap of work all year. Details when I’m free to share them.
I’m late getting a newsletter out, but I’m trying to liven up my blog/website. I’ve created a signup genius form for guest authors. The theme is Facts Behind the Fiction. We were doing that before I faded away for a while, and I’m glad to have it back. Watch for guests soon.
Meanwhile this time of year things are crazy In Real Life (IRL as they say). Because times are what they are, and I can’t just sit and be frustrated, I’ve committed to some volunteer work. It gets me up and moving, but makes me even busier. But then it is MAY the busiest time of year. Choir gigs. Birthdays. Gardening demands. Also weddings. I’m off to the post office to get some gifts in the mail as soon as I publish this. But first, coffee.
