November is evaporating fast, and I, for one, am happy to see it go. My heart wants to welcome the season of joy and light! Hanukkah—one of those seasons—began last night, and Christmas looms over the horizon.

We celebrated a lovely Thanksgiving last week. Issues involving older family members had us traveling and running about so dinner was commercial (I gave it a C+) instead of homemade, but every one of us was were simply pleased to be able to sit around the table together.

I have 27 days to find gifts and send greetings to folks I love, especially those sick or shut in or very young. I’ll manage it. Meanwhile I’m back at my desk mornings. There’s a tree going up in the corner. That should keep me motivated!

Writing? Oh yes! The Bluestocking Belles’ Desperate Daughters, our 2022 collection is in the proofreading stage. The Earl of Seahaven desperately wanted a son and heir but died leaving nine daughters and a fifth wife. Cruelly turned out by the new earl, they live hand-to-mouth in a small cottage. A turn of fate gives all ten of them a chance at a Season in York if they pool their resources. And so it begins. It is available for pre-order now. Watch for my story, “Lady Dorothea’s Curate.”

My 2021 Christmas story, “The Bootmaker” is ready. It will go out to my newsletter subscribers next week. If you haven’t subscribed, now is the time!

Last but not least, I’m polishing the character work for The Upright Son so I can start pounding on the draft this week. The Forgotten Daughter went off to the editor a while ago. I expect it will be on pre-order the end of the month.

Speaking of Hanukkah, An Open Heart, my only Hanukkah romance appeared originally in a Belles’ collection, Holly and Hopeful Hearts, but it is available standalone for 99 cents.

Joyful, writing, busy. But first, coffee.
