Rambling Through Time

I travel. Sometimes I travel by boat, plane, or automobile. Sometimes I travel by book. Sometimes I explore the real world. This week I rambled through San Francisco—and a medieval castle—with Sherry Ewing and To Follow My Heart.

Jenna Sinclair is a modern woman with very modern problems. Her live-in boyfriend has left her for another woman. After a nasty confrontation in a parking garage, she goes to one place she knows will soothe her soul, the beach below Cliff House at Land’s End. She climbs down the ledge overlooking Seal Rocks where the weasel confronts her again. In a fit of anger she takes of the little diamond ring he gave her and tosses it into the ocean and runs down onto Ocean Beach where she walks off her frustration.

Walking along, she laments the utilitarian modern Cliff House, a square concrete building. It still draws tourist with its commanding views. I know; I’ve been there, but I digress. Jenna laments that she never saw the Victorian version, destroyed in the great San Francisco earthquake of 1906. Me too! It appears to have been spectacular.

She thinks of the graciousness of the past and all the things she never saw, and an old feeling resurfaces, the sense that she had been born into the wrong century. She wanted not just Old San Francisco, but a castle. She wanted to be the lady of the keep. A disturbance in the air around her, a ghoulish wail, and some icy fog later, Jenna looks around. It is no longer morning. She remains on a beach, but Cliff House is gone. In its place is Berwick Castle. Stunned, she walks toward the castle and is met by… A knight? Her adventure is just beginning.

As luck would have it you can ramble along with Jenna this month for ***FREE***. To Follow My Heart is ***FREE*** until October 15.

About the Book

After a gut wrenching break up with her fiancé, Jenna Sinclair heads to the coast to do a little soul searching. To say everything is subject to change is putting it mildly. Her world is not only turned upside down, but pretty much torn asunder when she is pulled through a time gate on the beach beneath the Cliff House and transported more than eight hundred years into the past.

Fletcher Monroe, captain of the garrison knights at Berwyck Castle, has wasted too much time pining for a woman who will never be his. When he finally decides to move on with his life and focus on his duties, he is suddenly confronted with a woman who magically appears at his feet. This could either be the best thing that has ever happened to him or another cursed event in a string of many. He soon finds he is wildly attracted to her, but she’s scared to death of him ─ not a very encouraging beginning.

From the shores of California to twelfth century England and back again, Jenna and Fletcher must find a way to reconcile their two different worlds before Time forever tears them apart.
