6 Reasons for Joy This Week

Spring has finally taken up residence in the urban wilds of Eastern Pennsylvania, and it is a joy. Really. Beloved and I have been taking walks, enjoying the sunshine, trees leafing out, and flowers. Not only that, it is Holy Week, one of the most profound weeks of the year and the greater joys of Easter (and in our diverse family Passover as well) await.

However, as is always the case, the good weather creates opportunities that become conflicts, and stress threatens to leach all the good out of these wonderful days. I refuse to let that happen. There are too many reasons for joy.

  1. The chance to enjoy time with my grandson as good as it gets and comes first..
  2. Holy Week is meant to be lived, not accomplished. It isn’t a task, much less a research project. This year commentaries and research material will stay on the shelf. I’m going to let it wash over me every day. Besides, I get to sing through all of it, and that is a joy.
  3. The garden is not a task master, it is an opportunity for fresh food, time in the sun, and a chance to be one with creation. It can be managed in small mounts every day.
  4. The Reluctant Wife will come out April 26, and all the parts are in motion. I’m pleased to launch another story into the world. I just need to tend to it in small amounts. Besides, If I don’t have fun doing it, what’s the point?
  5. Two other stories are percolating in my brain. I may sit down one day this week and let them flow onto the screen. If not this week, the next. I’m patient.
  6. Easter dinner will fall into place in due time. Beloved and I will love the celebration however it unfolds, and we’ll enjoy one another too. Above all, Easter itself. Joy!

  1. Congratulations Caroline on your beautiful books. I enjoyed your blog page.

  2. Congratulations and thank you for such wonderful stories. Now go enjoy the sunshine!!

  3. Don’t you just love spring?!?!? My favorite time of the year! This is the most joyful time of the year since Jesus died on the cross for our sins, then rose to be with our Father until we all join them!
